Gregory Page: The songbird and the worm

Gregory Page

Gregory Page is a songwriter, crooner and minstrel of modern times, telling fantastic tales of love and hopeful melancholy through the interlacing of tradition, progress, history and fantasy. He was born in North London to Armenian and Irish musicians, who met while touring the Middle East.

Influenced by his swinging jazz singing mother, Page’s youth was spent listening to 78s and dreaming of his eventual escape to the USA to become a black American Blues singer like Billie Holiday. In September 1976, Page made his way to America and took a number of eclectic jobs, all the while writing and defining his distinct sound. During this time, Page’s musical career took a major turn after a friend introduced him to the work of crooner Al Bowlly.

Gregory Page has shared stages with such legends as Bob Dylan, Jason Mraz, Judy Collins and Leon Russell. He has recorded 20 albums, filled 2000 seat venues in the Netherlands and entertained audiences across Australia with his vintage vocals and dusty blues rhymes. Presently based in San Diego, Page is soon to launch his new album “Shine Shine Shine.” Page is now singing his lovely songs live into a new Heil Sound ‘The Fin’ microphone that he got at ProSound…(a great vintage look, with an amazing modern sound).
